The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation has decided to install timers on traffic lights to reduce road accidents and improve pedestrian safety.
In the first phase of the project, approximately 200 traffic lights will be equipped with timers. To support this initiative, the Road Development Authority will receive Rs. 56 million from the Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund.
