Uber and PickMe Urge Higher Fuel Quotas to Sustain Services

March 24, 2026

Uber and PickMe have appealed to the government to support the continuation of their services amid the latest fuel restrictions.

The two ride-hailing platforms highlighted the essential role they play in providing transportation, food delivery and other key services, calling for an increased fuel quota for their drivers and delivery partners.

They also noted their contribution to the tourism sector, emphasizing the importance of maintaining uninterrupted mobility for both locals and visitors.

While welcoming the government’s recent decision to increase fuel quotas from March 21 as a positive move, the companies said the revised allocations are still insufficient to meet operational needs.

They urged authorities to further raise weekly fuel allowances to ensure the continuity of passenger transport and delivery services across the country.
