The five-member committee appointed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to investigate the death of a second-year student from the Faculty of Technology at Sabaragamuwa University is expected to release its report next week.
The committee indicated that additional statements will be recorded from several students before finalizing the report, which will then be submitted to the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Over 110 hours of testimonies have been collected from students and other witnesses during the investigation.
The incident occurred on April 26, resulting in the tragic death of the student. Eleven individuals have been remanded in connection with the case.
