The Colombo High Court has sentenced underworld figure K.M. Sarath Bandara, alias SF Sarath, to death after finding him guilty of shooting and killing a man in Borella in 2014.
Colombo High Court Judge Nawarathne Marasinghe delivered the verdict today (April 1) following a lengthy trial.
Meanwhile, the court acquitted and released three other defendants, including Chaminda Ravi Jayanath, also known as Dematagoda Chaminda, who had been named in the case.
The case was filed against the four defendants for the murder of Hettiarachchige Duminda, who was shot inside a salon in Wanathamulla, Borella, on August 1, 2014.
