The United National Party (UNP) has announced its decision to continue cooperative engagement with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and other opposition political parties, in line with the consensus reached during initial discussions.
As part of this approach, the UNP has proposed the establishment of a committee or similar mechanism to ensure effective coordination with the SJB and other opposition groups.
In recent months, the UNP has held discussions with opposition parties on areas of mutual interest. UNP Chairman and Former Minister Wajira Abeywardana emphasized that the party is committed to consistently implementing the agreements reached during these exchanges. He further noted that the UNP intends to maintain a transparent and constructive working relationship with the SJB in the future.
