Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake says that although the UNP split into two parties with relative ease, obstacles have now emerged when it comes to reuniting them.
Expressing these views in an interview with ceylonwire.lk, the MP emphasized that any future steps should be taken without hurting the feelings of those involved.
However, he cautioned that if the two parties fail to reach a final decision within the next two or three weeks, direct action may have to be taken.
The MP further noted that it is essential for party members to support such an expedited process.
