Ravi Karunanayake, a parliamentarian from the United National Party, has spoken to the media about the proposed merger between the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, describing it as a major boost for democracy.
He said the unity of the two parties would help create a stronger political force and could also serve as an example for other parties to follow.
The MP stressed that joint efforts by both parties must be strategic, adding that they would come together with a shared purpose to move the country forward.
