Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, says that the absence of unity within the UNP is a significant barrier not only to the party’s revival but also to the country’s overall progress.
Addressing the media, Karunanayake stated that conservative thinking without innovation is a major obstacle to national development. “We must move beyond outdated mindsets and unite for the betterment of the country,” he stressed.
He further pointed out that internal divisions have weakened the UNP and criticized certain individuals within the party for behaving hypocritically and contributing to its downfall.
“The only way to rebuild this fallen nation is for everyone to adopt fresh thinking and come together with a shared purpose,” he added.
