The United States is prepared to provide naval assistance to support the Sri Lankan government’s anti-drug operations, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung has said.
She further noted that the US government is also ready to assist in developing the Colombo Port and enhancing the efficiency of the government’s digitalisation program.
Ambassador Chung conveyed these commitments during her meeting with Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilake at the ministry yesterday (26).
Minister Karunathilake expressed his gratitude to the US government for its continued support and invited both nations to further strengthen bilateral diplomatic relations.
Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janitha Ruwan Kodituwakku and Ministry Secretary W.W.S. Mangala were also present at the meeting.
