President of Vietnam, Tô Lâm, is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on May 7 for an official visit.
He is expected to remain in the country until May 9.
During the visit, President Tô Lâm is also expected to address the Parliament of Sri Lanka on May 8.
Vietnam, regarded as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economies, recorded GDP growth of 7.1 percent in 2024 and 7.85 percent during the first nine months of 2025.
Vietnam’s GDP in 2025 stood at approximately US$514 billion. As one of the region’s major economies, Vietnam presents significant potential for Sri Lanka to further expand and strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations.
