The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced the appointment of Ms. Vindhya Jayasekera as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Designate, effective January 1, 2025. She will succeed the current CEO, Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike, who is set to retire later in 2025 after an 11-year tenure.
A Distinguished Career in Capital Markets
Ms. Jayasekera brings over 20 years of expertise in capital markets, spanning investment banking and asset management. Before joining the CSE, she served as the Chief Investment Officer at NDB Wealth Management Limited, managing assets exceeding LKR 380 billion.
During her tenure, she oversaw mutual fund portfolios exceeding LKR 100 billion across eight funds with varied risk-return profiles, including investments in treasury bills, bonds, corporate debt, and equities.
Her career began at NDB Investment Bank, where she played a pivotal role in executing two of the largest IPOs in the history of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
Academic and Professional Accomplishments
Ms. Jayasekera is highly qualified, holding several prestigious credentials:
- CFA Charter holder and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
- Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and holder of the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
- Recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship, earning a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a medal for academic excellence.
- Graduated with First Class Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa.
