The Department of Meteorology has issued a Warm Weather Advisory for tomorrow, warning of rising temperatures in multiple provinces and districts.
According to the advisory, the Heat Index—the temperature felt on the human body—is expected to reach the ‘Caution Level’ in certain areas of the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, Western, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, and Monaragala districts.
At this level, prolonged exposure and physical activity may cause fatigue, while continuous exertion could lead to heat cramps.
Authorities advise the public to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in shaded areas, and avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Additionally, people are urged to check on the elderly and sick, never leave children unattended in vehicles, and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
