The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers at times in the Southern and Eastern provinces today (April 2). Several other areas across the island are also expected to experience rainfall, particularly in the afternoon or night.
Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are likely in certain areas of the Central, North-Western, and North-Central provinces, as well as in Mannar and Vavuniya districts.
Additionally, misty conditions are expected in the morning in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central, and Uva provinces, along with the Kurunegala district.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
