The Meteorology Department has forecasted showers or thundershowers at times in the Eastern, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, and Polonnaruwa districts.
Additionally, a few showers may occur in the Northern Province and Anuradhapura district, while showers or thundershowers are expected in several other areas during the afternoon or night. Coastal areas of the Western Province may also experience morning showers.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is anticipated in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions against potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
