The Department of Meteorology has announced that several spells of showers are expected today (August 6) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
In addition, showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in parts of the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Mullaitivu district after 1:00 p.m.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions against potential hazards such as temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
