The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Northern provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts after 2:00 p.m. today (21).
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 50mm are expected in parts of Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Additionally, several spells of showers are likely in Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
Misty conditions are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts during the morning.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
