The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory predicting intermittent showers across multiple provinces of the island today (15), with potential heavy rainfall and strong winds in several areas.
According to the forecast:

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-western provinces.

Heavy rainfall of around 100 mm is likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers are expected in the Northern Province and Anuradhapura District.

Showers or thundershowers may occur during the afternoon or night in areas of the Uva Province, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts.
Additionally, strong winds ranging from 50-60 kmph are expected over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, and Southern provinces, as well as the Trincomalee district.
The Department has advised the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary, localized strong winds and adverse weather conditions.
