Workers’ Remittances to Sri Lanka Rise 18.3% in First Four Months of 2025

Sri Lanka has recorded an 18.3% increase in workers’ remittances from January to April 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to the latest data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The cumulative remittance inflow during this period reached USD 2,460.5 million, reflecting a significant year-on-year growth.

However, official figures show a slight month-on-month decline in remittances, with inflows for April 2025 amounting to USD 646.1 million—down from USD 693.3 million recorded in March.
