Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, China’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
During the visit, Xi will hold discussions with Trump on major issues concerning China-U.S. relations, as well as global peace and development, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun.
Guo said the reciprocal visits by the two leaders within a six-month period are of “historic, milestone significance.”
He added that China is willing to work with the United States to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, properly manage differences, improve the well-being of people in both countries, and promote global peace, stability and prosperity.
