The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that a 30-hour water cut will be implemented in several areas of the Galle District starting today (20).
In a statement, the NWSDB said the water supply will be suspended from 8:00 a.m. today (20) until 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (21).
The interruption is required to carry out essential repair work on the main pipeline supplying water to the Hapugala Water Treatment Plant in Galle.
Accordingly, water supply will be suspended in the areas of Bope, Poddala, Akmeemana, and Rathgama.
Meanwhile, the Ahangama area will receive water at low pressure during this period.
The NWSDB regretted the inconvenience caused to consumers and urged the public to use water sparingly throughout the interruption.
