Heavy Rainfall and Misty Conditions Expected Amid Low Pressure System

The Meteorological Department has reported that a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal is expected to move west-northwestwards, reaching the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka–Tamil Nadu coasts by tomorrow (11).

As a result, heavy rainfall of around 75mm is likely in certain areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts. Showers are also anticipated at intervals in the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern Provinces.

Additionally, misty conditions are forecasted during the morning hours across the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva, Western, and North-Western Provinces. Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly while traveling in affected areas.
