Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm is expected in several parts of Sri Lanka today (October 3), with the Department of Meteorology forecasting showers or thundershowers after 1.00 p.m.
Rainfall exceeding 75mm is likely in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Uva, North Western, Southern and North Central provinces, as well as the Mannar District.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning that may occur during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
