The Department of Prisons has announced that open visits will be allowed for inmates at prisons across Sri Lanka on the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day.
On February 4, relatives of inmates will be permitted to visit and provide food and hygiene items for one inmate.
Prison Media Spokesperson and Commissioner of Prisons, Gamini B. Dissanayake, confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate these visits in prisons nationwide, with strict adherence to health guidelines.
