The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as the Nuwara-Eliya district, after 2:00 p.m. today (28).
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm are expected in some areas of Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Meanwhile, a few showers may occur in coastal areas of the Eastern province during the morning.
Misty conditions are likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts during the morning.
The public is advised to take precautions against potential damage from localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
