37 Schools in Kandy to Close Temporarily for Sacred Tooth Relic Exposition

Thirty-seven schools in Kandy town and surrounding areas will remain closed from April 21 to April 25 due to the special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the Central Province Director of Education announced.

The decision was made to ease congestion and facilitate public participation in the religious event, which is expected to draw large crowds.

The exposition will be held at the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) in Kandy, beginning on April 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thereafter, it will continue daily until April 27, from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m.

The special exposition is a significant religious event, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad. Authorities have requested the public to cooperate with the measures taken to ensure a smooth and respectful environment for worshippers.
