Sabaragamuwa Provincial Health Services Director Dr. Kapila Kannangara says that 166 health workers at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital have been infected with dengue, significantly disrupting hospital operations.
Since January, 1,465 dengue cases have been reported from the Ratnapura district alone.
Nationwide, more than 14,600 dengue cases have been recorded over the past year, with the highest numbers reported from the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Ratnapura.
