Severe Thunderstorms with Lightning Forecast for Several Regions – Public Advised to Take Precautions

The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of thundershowers accompanied by intense lightning expected in parts of the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, as well as in the districts of Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, and Ampara.

Temporary localized strong winds may also occur during these thunderstorms.

The general public is urged to take necessary safety measures to mitigate potential harm or damage caused by lightning activity.
