SLC Honours Ruchira Palliyaguruge for Completing 100 ODI Appearances as Umpire

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has honoured veteran umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge for reaching the milestone of officiating in his 100th One Day International (ODI) match as an on-field umpire.

The felicitation ceremony took place during the ongoing ODI match, with SLC Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne presenting a special commemorative plaque to Palliyaguruge in recognition of his distinguished service and contributions to the game.

Also present at the event were ICC Match Referee Andy Pycroft, Elite Panel Umpire Allahuddien Paleker, and International Panel Umpires Raveendra Wimalasiri and Asif Yaqoob.

Palliyaguruge began his international umpiring career on August 6, 2011, in a T20I between Sri Lanka and Australia at Pallekele. He made his ODI debut just a week later, on August 14, 2011, also featuring the same two teams.

His notable career highlights include officiating in the 2015 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in Australia and standing in the final of the 2016 Asia Cup Championship.
