Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Northern, North-Central, Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces after 2:00 p.m. today (23), the Department of Meteorology announced.
Fairly heavy rainfall of over 50 mm is likely in some areas.
A few showers are also expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, the Department added.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damages from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
