Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, says that around 150,000 young people enter Sri Lanka’s labour market every year, highlighting the urgent need to create new opportunities for them.
Speaking to the media, MP Karunanayake stressed that fostering young entrepreneurship is crucial for the country’s economic future.
He noted that, based on current national needs, it is essential to develop at least one million young entrepreneurs.
“This should not remain just talk,” he said, emphasizing that practical measures must be implemented to encourage and support emerging entrepreneurs across the country.
