A consortium led by Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company, has announced the signing of an agreement with CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd to develop a new 34-storey office tower in the Port City area.
The project, titled Colombo Gateway Tower One, will feature 28,000 square metres of modern office space across 28 floors, along with retail and leisure facilities. The tower will be constructed on Plot 01-10-04 of the Port City, land that was reclaimed from the sea by CHEC Port City Colombo.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Sharhan Musheen, Chairman of Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd, and Xiong Hongfeng, Managing Director of CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd.
According to the statement, Canary Wharf Holdings functions as the development arm of Platinum Advisors Pte Ltd, the project promoter behind Colombo Gateway.
Construction is scheduled to commence in May 2026, with completion expected by June 2029.
