The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ level advisory warning of heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours.
According to the Met Department, the prevailing rainy conditions are expected to persist in the Northern and Eastern provinces, influenced by a low-pressure area located near the island.
Forecasts indicate the possibility of heavy showers exceeding 100mm in certain locations within these regions.
The public is urged to exercise caution and take necessary measures to reduce the risk of damage from heavy rain, strong winds, and severe lightning during thundershowers.
