Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have decided to release Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana from their squad ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the franchise had been assessing Pathirana’s future within the team. CSK originally acquired him before IPL 2023 and later chose to retain him ahead of the 2025 mega auction for INR 13 crore.
This latest move marks a significant change in CSK’s bowling lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season.
