Prime Minister Harini Amarasooriya will convene a diplomatic community briefing today, 28 November 2025, at the Prime Minister’s Office to update Heads of Missions in Colombo on the ongoing emergency flood relief operations and recovery efforts.
All Heads of Missions and post holders of Sri Lankan diplomatic missions abroad will participate in the meeting online.
The briefing will primarily focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities.
Many diplomatic missions in Colombo have already expressed their solidarity with the Government of Sri Lanka during this challenging period. They have also conveyed their readiness to work closely with Sri Lankan authorities to provide humanitarian assistance and support ongoing relief and recovery programmes.
Following the instructions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established an Emergency Response Unit to coordinate efforts with Sri Lankan diplomatic missions abroad and diplomatic missions in Colombo.
