The Department of Meteorology has warned that several spells of showers are expected in Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as in Hambantota and Matale districts.
Showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in other parts of the island after 1:00 p.m., with fairly heavy falls of around 75 mm expected in some areas of Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
Misty conditions are anticipated in the early morning at certain locations in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central provinces, as well as in Kurunegala and Vavuniya districts.
The general public is kindly urged to take necessary precautions to minimize risks from localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
