The Sri Lankan Embassy in China, the Sri Lanka Tea Board and Helanhong Winery have jointly launched a new wine product infused with world-famous Ceylon Tea.
The launch took place at a diplomatic reception in Beijing, held to celebrate Sri Lanka’s 78th National Independence Day.
The event was attended by several high-ranking Chinese officials, including the Director-General of the Asian Affairs Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Officials said the innovative product represents a unique fusion of Sri Lanka’s historic tea heritage and China’s rapidly growing wine industry.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in China noted that the initiative reflects deepening cultural exchange and highlights the strengthening bilateral partnership between Sri Lanka and China, while opening new avenues for promoting Sri Lankan tea in international markets.
