Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and MP Ravi Karunanayake has raised concerns in Parliament regarding the ongoing challenges facing SriLankan Airlines.
He questioned the government about the current status of plans to reform or commercialize the national carrier.
The MP also asked whether Cabinet approval has been granted for any restructuring plan and, if so, what the specific timeline for implementation would be.
In addition, he inquired about the audit framework under which SriLankan Airlines will continue its operations and sought clarification on the airline’s total outstanding debt at present.
He emphasized the need for transparency and a clear strategic direction for the future of the national airline.
