The Department of Meteorology says that the high temperatures causing extremely warm weather conditions across many parts of the country are likely to continue until May.
According to the department, the “heat index,” which reflects the temperature felt by the human body, is expected to remain at a cautionary level today in several areas, including the Colombo and Gampaha districts.
Similar warm weather conditions are also expected today in the Sabaragamuwa, North Western, and North Central provinces, as well as in the districts of Vavuniya, Mannar, Hambantota, and Monaragala.
