The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North Western provinces, as well as the districts of Anuradhapura, Mannar and Vavuniya.
According to the advisory, which is valid for tomorrow (22), the heat index — the temperature felt on the human body — is expected to rise to the “caution level” in several areas across 13 districts.
Under these conditions, people may experience fatigue with prolonged exposure, while continued physical activity could lead to heat cramps.
The public is advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to minimize health risks.
