Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Southern, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts after 2.00 p.m. today (24), the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts.
Mainly dry weather will prevail in other parts of the island, the department added.
Misty conditions can be expected in some areas of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, and in the districts of Galle, Matara and Kurunegala during the early hours of the morning.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
