Evening Showers Expected in Several Areas

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kalutara and Nuwara Eliya during the evening or night, the Department of Meteorology said.

Mainly dry weather is expected in the rest of the island.

Misty conditions are likely in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Uva provinces, as well as in the districts of Kurunegala, Vavuniya, Galle and Matara during the early morning hours.

The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to reduce potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
