Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and MP Ravi Karunanayake has said that despite global instability, the current situation presents an opportunity for Sri Lanka to attract investment from the Middle East.
Speaking to the media, the MP noted that the Middle East has become increasingly unstable, but such periods can also create economic openings for countries that act strategically.
He emphasized that Sri Lanka, as a small nation, should maintain friendly relations with all sides and position itself as a neutral and constructive partner.
The MP added that Sri Lanka could play a role in promoting dialogue and cooperation among parties while also leveraging its independent stance to attract foreign investment.
He stressed that this is a significant opportunity for the country to bring in Middle Eastern investments and strengthen its economic position.
