March 30, 2026

Prabhath Madusanka, also known as ‘Midigama Chuti,’ a suspected member of an organised criminal gang, has been brought back to Sri Lanka this morning (30).

He arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at around 4:27 a.m. on a SalamAir flight and was escorted by a team of special police officers.

Madusanka had been arrested by Omani authorities last year while a red warrant had been issued against him in connection with multiple criminal activities.

Accordingly, three officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) travelled to Oman to escort him back to the country.

Following his arrival, authorities have recorded his statements and taken steps to transfer him to the CID headquarters in Colombo for further investigations.
