The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has resumed its strike action from 8.00 a.m. today, citing ongoing concerns related to the transfer process.
GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa stated that the strike is being carried out across hospitals islandwide.
Meanwhile, Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that authorities remain open to discussions if requested by the GMOA, but noted that he cannot provide assurances beyond his mandate.
The GMOA had previously staged a token strike last Tuesday over the same issue.
