Tamim Iqbal Appointed Interim Head of Bangladesh Cricket Committee

Bangladesh’s National Sports Council has dissolved the elected members of the Bangladesh Cricket Board led by Aminul Islam, and appointed former national captain Tamim Iqbal as Chairman of an interim cricket committee.

The announcement was made by Director of Sports at the National Sports Council, Aminul Ehsan, during a media briefing held yesterday (07).

The Council had earlier revealed that several irregularities were detected in the Bangladesh Cricket Board elections held on October 6 last year. A report on these findings has been submitted to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Authorities have also informed the ICC about the formation of an 11-member interim committee, which has been tasked with organizing fresh elections within 90 days.

The interim committee comprises Tamim Iqbal (Chairman), Rashna Imam, Miza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khosru, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Athar Ali Khan, Tanvir Chowdhury, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Ispahani, and Rafiqul Islam Babu.
