Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has indicated that she is considering a run in the 2028 presidential election.
Speaking at an event organized by the National Action Network in New York, Harris told supporters that she is weighing the possibility of entering the race in the future.
She said her decision would depend on who is best positioned to serve the American people as president in 2028.
Harris, who served under former President Joe Biden, was the Democratic Party’s nominee in the 2024 election but lost to Donald Trump.
Prior to her vice presidency, she served as a U.S. Senator and Attorney General of California, and had also sought the Democratic nomination in 2020.
However, analysts suggest she may face challenges in a future bid, as sections of the Democratic base are reportedly looking for new leadership following the party’s 2024 defeat.
