Fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 mm is likely in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail in the remaining parts of the country.
Misty conditions may also occur in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts during the early morning hours.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
