Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of the island after 1:00 p.m., according to the Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at several locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts.

Showers may also occur during the morning hours in Batticaloa, Ampara, and Hambantota districts.

Misty conditions are expected in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central, and Uva provinces, along with Vavuniya and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the morning.

The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
