Sri Lanka Cricket Denies Knowledge of Govt Request for Resignations

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has stated that it has not been informed of any request by the government for its executive committee members, including Chairman Shammi Silva, to resign.

Speaking at a press conference, SLC CEO Ashley de Silva said the board was only aware of media reports on the matter.

“We have also seen some reports in the media. But we have not been informed about it. We are not aware of anything like that,” he said.

He made the remarks in response to questions from journalists regarding reports that the President had requested the resignation of SLC’s executive committee members.
