Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Puttalam districts after 2:00 p.m., according to the Department of Meteorology Sri Lanka.
The Department stated that mainly fair weather will prevail in other parts of the island.
Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central provinces, along with Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts during the early morning hours.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
